A priest was kidnapped in Burkina Faso
A priest was seemingly kidnapped on Sunday, near to Djibon, the capital city of the Province of Soum in the northern region of the country that is close to the border with Mali.
On the 17th of March, Fr Yougbaré went to celebrate Mass in Bottogui and has not been seen since then in Djibo. In a communiqué, the Bishop of Dori, Mgr. Laurent Dabiré stated that jihadist attacks are not uncommon in this region.
The Bishop went on to say that once it became evident that the priest was missing, police immediately started investigating his disappearance. Unfortunately, they still have no news about the priest, whom they presume was probably kidnapped.
Local sources state that he was abducted by armed men near Sergosoma around 3 pm.
