Another statue of the Virgin Mary vandalised in France

The mayor of the village, Joël Raymond, released the information on Twitter on Monday. The statue of the Virgin Mary had been decapitated.

The police in charge of the investigation came to take samples. The mayor of Montaud made a complaint on Monday and Father Charles-Edouard Bruneaut, the parish priest of Saint-Joseph de Castries, did the same on Tuesday.

“To attack the Virgin Mary, with all that she represents in terms of symbol whether one is a believer or not is distressing. We are lucky to have this statue which makes everyone happy, we try to protect it and enhance it. We will see if it is possible to restore it or replace it completely.” Joel Raymond wrote on Twitter.
