Hungary Helps: two hundred Syrian refugee families can return to their homes
Jean Abdo Arbach, Archbishop of Homs expressed his thankfulness to Viktor Orbán Prime Minister and to the Hungarian people for the aid, which helped 200 Syrian refugee family return to their homes – informed the Hungarian News Agency (HNA) via the press officer of the PM, Bertalan Havasi on Monday.
The Syrian religious highness recalled in the letter that they could rebuild two Christian youth centres and two hundred apartments in the city of Homs that were destroyed in the attacks raged in Syria since 2011.
“We pray for You and for that Hungary will become a shield of persecuted Christian values in the world more and more”- wrote the exarch of Homs in his letter to Viktor Orbán.
Bertalan Havasi told to HNA: in the implementation of the Homs program the Hungarian Charity Service of the Order of Malta was the local partner.
As it may known, the Hungarian Government aids the persecuted Christians in the world, like in Syria via the Hungary Helps Program. Tristan Azbej, State Secretary for the Aid of Persecuted Christians and the Hungary Helps Program recalled on his social media platform the words of the Syrian Orthodox Patriarch, Ignatius Efrem II who said: “ The help of our friends from the Hungary Helps Program from Hungary is fundamentally crucial.”
