Jihadists kill ten people in Burkina Faso
Gunmen suspected to be jihadists killed 10 civilians in northern Burkina Faso on Monday and kidnapped an additional four, according to military officials.
“Terrorists set up a checkpoint on the road between Dambam and Markoye and intercepted all those heading to the market,” a local official told AFP.
The attack occurred near the Niger border, the site of frequent attacks by jihadist groups. The ISGS (IS greater Sahara), based in Mali, pledged allegiance to the Islamic State in 2015 and since then has spread throughout the Sahil region, especially targeting the tri-border region between Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso.
Please continue to pray for Burkina Faso and for the end of Islamic extremism. Pray for those who engage in horrendous crimes against humanity, that they will experience the love of Jesus and be guided from darkness to light. Please also pray for the Lord to protect and strengthen the persecuted church, and to provide healing to all of those affected by violence.
